8 Liner Raid in La Joya

Local News

At least eight 8 Liner establishments are out of business tonight in La Joya after several law enforcement agencies conducted multiple raids. This is video shared with us from our media partners, Telemundo 40.

Hidalgo County District Attorney, Ricardo Rodriguez, tells us his office partnered with the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office, the Department of Public Safety and Mission PD.

They obtained search warrants after an investigation that started several weeks ago when someone reported the businesses.

This is an ongoing operation. The District Attorney could not say how many people have been arrested. They could face anything between a misdemeanor and a felony charge for operating these illegal gambling businesses.
