78th Annual Livestock Show Set to Begin in March

Local News

The 78th Annual Livestock Show is right around the corner. We learned that the parking lot at the show grounds is complete. The lot will accommodate over 3,000 vehicles and the event begins on March 9th.

In our studios we had the 2017 cover girl for the rodeo, Anika Hovda.

“I represent the livestock show in general, I get to hand out things like ribbons and meet lots of fun and interesting people.”

D.J. Wernecke – General Manager RGV Livestock Show, “A hundred percent of the profit goes back to the kids of RGV. Last year we gave $1.6 million to the Kids of RGV. Guess what our goal is this year… $2 million.”

Funds for the event are donated on the last day to students across the Rio Grande Valley.
