WASHINGTON, D.C. – The best schools in the Rio Grande Valley were on display in the nation’s capitol.
The U.S. Department of Education recognizing 27 schools in Texas as National Blue Ribbon Schools. Ten were from the Rio Grande Valley. The schools came from the La Joya, Roma, Hidalgo, Mission, Brownsville, McAllen and Valley View School Districts. Some districts had multiple campuses that were recognized.
School leaders went up to receive their awards this afternoon in Washington, D.C. The schools were nominated by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) for their success in teaching students.
