Former Southwest Key employee arrested for soliciting 14-year-old girl online


BROWNSVILLE, Texas — The Cameron County District Attorney’s Office Special Investigations Unit has arrested a former Southwest Key Employee for Online Solicitation of a Minor under 14. 31-year-old Hugo Alberto Rodriguez of Brownsville, was arrested on Tuesday, June 18th, following a joint investigation between the Cameron County District Attorney’s Office and Homeland Security Investigations Rio Grande Valley Child Exploitation Investigation Task Force.

Rodriguez is accused of attempting to obtain sexually explicit material from a female minor who he met while he was employed at the Southwest Key Programs in Brownsville. Rodriguez is charged with Online Solicitation of a Minor Under 14, a second degree felony that could net him 2 to 20 years in prison. He is currently being held at the Carrizalez-Rucker Detention Center where he is being held pending arraignment.
