Family seeks justice after pet shot by stranger

MISSION, TX – Hidalgo County authorities currently searching for witnesses, video surveillance, or anything that could lead them one step closer to finding out who shot Paloma.

It’s an incident that’s causing fury online demanding justice for a wounded animal in need.

It’s a pet owners’ worst nightmare, a beloved pet, in a life or death situation.

On October the 9th, pet owner Maritza Luvianos was at home when in the blink of an eye an unexpected tragedy took over a mission neighborhood.

The cause of the incident unknown, the shooter is nowhere to be found.

Due to high cost for treatment, the dog and owner have parted ways. Luvianos was forced to give up her dog to save her life.

Paloma is now in the care of Rescue Dogs Rock NYC who raised funds and transferred her to San Antonio for surgery.

Now the family remains in shock on how such an incident took place with pup leche left without a mother.

Authorities are asking anyone with information to come forward. You can also report any clues anonymously via the crime stoppers hotline.
