Family of fallen officer to be honored at football game

MCALLEN, Texas – The Cathey Middle School Cobras and the Cathey Athletic Booster Club would like to cordially invite you to attend the first 7th grade home football game. The game will be in honor and tribute to fallen Mission Police Department Officer, Corporal Jose Espericueta. The game will be at James “Nikki” Rowe Football Stadium, located at 2101 N. Ware Road in McAllen (behind Rowe High School) on September 21 at 8:00 am. Joaquin Espericueta, the son of Corporal Espericueta, will play his first home game as a Cathey Cobra. Corporal Espericueta was awaiting the day when his son would played his first middle school football game.

Tentative schedule of events for the game starting at 8:30 am:

• Procession start of all officers attending game

• Seating of 150 officers surrounding football field

• National Anthem (Cathey MS Anthem Singers)

• Mr. Lee Charles: Moment of Silence

• Oziel Hernandez – Cathey Athletic Coordinator: Welcome

• Dr. J.A. Gonzalez – MISD Superintendent: College Fund Texas Regional Bank

• Marco Suarez – MISD School Board President: Pass the helmet & Shirt Sale
