UPDATE: Elderly man hospitalized with head trauma following auto-pedestrian crash


MISSION, Texas – UPDATE: The 85-year-old man has been identified as Lorenzo Moreno Reyna. He is currently in an induced coma and did suffer a fractured pelvis, ribs and a broken back.

He is currently being monitored and the incident is still under investigation, no citations have been issued at this time.

PREVIOUS STORY: An 85-year-old man has been transported to McAllen Medical with head trauma following an auto-pedestrian accident.

According to the Mission Police Department at 8:17 P.M. the 85-year-old man was crossing the street on Fifth and Conway. A vehicle traveling northbound on Conway did not see the man and struck him.

The female driver immediately called 911 and rendered aid to the 85-year-old man, who was still breathing but was unresponsive.

The 85-year-old man did not use the crosswalk and the investigation is still opened at this time.
