Edinburg Fire Department raising funds for cancer foundation


EDINBURG, Texas – The Edinburg Fire Department is hosting a festival to raise funds for the Renaissance Cancer Foundation.

Local firefighters and the community are invited to “The Fire Stopper’s Festival” in November. The event will count with multiple public safety agencies, a carnival, food, and special attractions. Special music guest, Country singer Jerrod Niemann.

Chief Shawn Snider, Edinburg Fire Department, “I’m a cancer patient myself and the department wanted to give back to something related to something that I’m battling for the last 10 years and they’re doing it through this run/ walk.”

The Cure 5K Run with the fire chief will be inside the H-E-B and Edinburg Municipal Park highlighting Fire Prevention Week and Cancer Awareness. The event is scheduled for Saturday, November 2.
