Donna Bridge set to process commercial traffic

News

DONNA, Texas – The Donna – Rio Bravo International Bridge will now be the third in Hidalgo County to process commercial traffic. The $25 million project will allow officers to process 100 commercial trucks an hour by allowing Mexican authorities on U.S. soil to process trucks at the same time as U.S. authorities.

Officials say the project will facilitate trade and commerce.

Jesus Reyna, Donna Bridge Director, “There’s a lot of growth and a lot of demand for commercial goods coming in from Mexico. This project which is a South commercial project and also a North commercial project is going to allow traffic and goods to flow into the United States much faster.”

The project is expected to be completed in April 2020.
