Disaster Recovery Center hours changing

BROWNSVILLE, Texas – FEMA Disaster Recovery Centers will be changing their hours of operations. Starting this weekend the three sites across the Rio Grande Valley will be closed on Sundays with centers operating Monday through Friday from 8:00 am till 7:00 p.m. Saturday hours will change from 10:00 a.m. till 6:00 p.m.

This after the federal agency continues to assist victims of the June floods.

La-Tanga Hopes, FEMA Media Relations Specialist, “We are now at $10 million dollars for approved funding and these are grants. This is money you do not have to pay back. It’s important for anyone that has been impacted by the storm to come down and see if they can get and become eligible.”

Bi-lingual support is available. Anyone with questions about their assistance and eligibility can visit the Cameron, Willacy, and Hidalgo Counties Disaster Recovery Centers.
