Convicted child predator sentenced


PHARR, Texas – A man from the City of Pharr has been found guilty on three counts of sexual abuse of a child.

34-year-old Francisco Ezequiel Lopez will spend the next 65 years behind bars.

Authorities tell us his victim was only 10 to 11-years-old when the abuse began.

The jury found Lopez guilty of continuous sexual abuse of a child under the age of 14, aggravated sexual assault of a child, both of which are first degree felonies, and indecency with a child by sexual contact.

Criminal District Attorney Ricardo Rodriguez says they will prioritize the prosecution of the perpetrators of these heinous crimes, urging people to report child abuse immediately.
