Brownsville non-profit turns 35

BROWNSVILLE, Texas – Leadership Brownsville is celebrating a major milestone of serving the community. This year, the non-profit dedicated to motivating emerging leaders celebrates 35 years of existence.

Each year, the organization hosts a series of classes meant to inspire young professionals to get involved in the community and government affairs.

Today, a special visit from the incoming chair of the organization, who is the first female chair in over a decade.

Lizzy de la Garza Putegnat, “Our mission is to foster leadership development by educating community members of the different sectors that make up Brownsville. Exposing them to the challenges within our cities so that we can empower them to become engaged and be part of a solution and make a positive impact in the community.”
