Big marijuana drug bust

RIO GRANDE VALLEY, Texas – Border Patrol agents responded to a report of a gray SUV loaded with drugs and speeding away from the Rio Grande.

When authorities arrived, the vehicle was submerged in the river with more than 1,200 pounds of marijuana.

A second drug bust of 1,100 pounds was found inside a white pickup truck near Falcon Heights.

Since October of last year, more than 100,000 pounds of marijuana have been taken off the streets in the Rio Grande Valley.
