DONNA, Texas — An abandoned house used for criminal activity in Donna has been demolished. The city is utilizing bad money for a good cause. Funding the operation with drug seizure money. The goal is to create a safer community and eliminate unsafe structures surrounding schools.
Angel Lopez, Donna resident, “This house has been here 15 years and I really think it’s unsanitary. It’s unsafe especially for the kids in this neighborhood. There’s a lot of rodents that come out, snakes, rats, stuff like that. I think this would be good.”
The city has identified 14 other structures that serve as a place for criminal activity and will also be torn down soon.
