14 Brownsville Schools Nationally Recognized

High levels of student achievement, improvement over time, reduction in achievement gaps and college readiness is what got dozens of schools in the Rio Grande Valley on the Texas Honor Roll.

And the Brownsville Independent School District had one of the highest number of school awards including: Brite Elementary, Burns Elementary, Garden Park Elementary, Keller Elementary, Ortiz Elementary, Paredes Elementary, Peña Elementary, Pullam Elementary, Yturria Elementary, Oliveira Middle School, Stillman Middle School, Brownsville Early College High School, Hanna Early College High School, and Veteran’s Memorial Early College High School.

The schools were awarded for their evidence-based instruction, investment in human capital, data maintenance, and resources and guidance in preparing all students for college and a career.

The schools will now be featured on a website for educators seeking high-performing schools whose success can be replicated.

McAllen ISD had 8 Honor Roll schools, Edinburg 10, and 6 in PSJA ISD.
