A rare Wind Chill Advisory is posted from 12 AM Friday to 12 AM Saturday.  A major cold front will push through the RGV Thursday night.  North winds will pick up and gust to near 40 mph.  Cold rain showers will accompany this front.  Technically, the high on Friday will be 45, or the temperature at midnight.  However, most of the day will be in the 30s.

What is a Wind Chill Advisory?  A Wind Chill Advisory is issued by the National Weather Service when the combination of temperature and wind strength is low enough to pose a threat to human health and life if adequate protection is not taken against hypothermia and frostbite. The exact definition varies from state to state, and areas prone to very cold temperatures will often require the wind chill to be lower before issuing an advisory.
