It's hard to believe that the 4th of July is just 10 days away.  These firework stands are open in Harlingen.  Even though the Valley is below normal on its year-to-date rainfall, we are lucky that fireworks are not illegal, as they are in many Texas counties.

Nature sent the RGV some "natural fireworks" in the form of t-storms on Wednesday.  Nature also sent some much needed rainfall.  Brownsville is about 4 inches below normal right now; McAllen, over 5 inches below normal.

Here are the rain amounts from Wednesday (in inches):

Brownsville: 0.06

Weslaco:  0.89

McAllen:  0.08

Harlingen:  0.21

Edinburg:  0.11

Bayview:  0.12

Notice the locally heavy rainfall in the Central Valley.  On Thursday, expect more scattered t-showers.  The hotter the day gets, the better chance for locally heavy rain with some isolated storms.  For my complete long range forecast, please click here.. http://www.kveo.com/weather
