As of late Friday evening, a tropical convective air mass was positioned just east of the Dominican Republic. Friday night that air mass had an 90% chance of developing into a tropical cyclone within the following 48 hours.
The National Hurricane Center has issued a five day outlook. Luckily for the Valley, all the forecast models place the possible storm between east Florida and the open waters of the Atlantic.
