We stayed on the drier side of things on Friday, but we are still expecting to see a slight chance of rain this weekend.

The high pressure over the Gulf and low pressure extending into west Texas will interact and this will result in breezy conditions across the Rio Grande Valley and Deep South Texas this weekend.

We already started experiencing that this afternoon into the evening hours, but we will definitely feel it more Saturday and Sunday.

Southeast winds will increase up to 25 mph by late morning both Saturday and Sunday.

The increased winds will help push temperatures slightly above normal for mid August with readings topping the century mark west of Highway 77 each day.

Rain chances will remain slight through most of the first part of next week, but those chances should increase by mid week next week.

Remember, hot temperatures can quickly become a hazard so make sure you stay well hydrated, and don't stay out in the hot temperatures too long.

The problem we have here in the Valley is there is a lot of humidity and we don't feel dehydrated as quickly until it is too late.

Stay safe and dry!
