Robert is the chief meteorologist for KVEO-TV Newscenter 23 in the Rio Grande Valley and evening meteorologist for KTSM-TV NewsChannel 9 in El Paso, a ComCorp sister station. Robert forecasts and presents the weather for both markets every week night. Robert was the chief meteorologist for KDBC-TV Local 4 in El Paso for over a decade, from July 2004 to October 2014.

Robert headed up special weather teams for Hurricane Alex (summer 2010) and Tropical Storm Don (summer 2011). Robert filed live reports from the streets of New Orleans during Hurricane Isaac in 2012. He is always ready for a monsoon thunderstorm or a winter snowstorm, whatever may be threatening his watch areas. Robert has also worked for the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Robert graduated with a degree in Broadcast Journalism from Arizona State University. He went on to complete a second degree in Atmospheric Physics (Meteorology) from the University of Arizona. Robert is one of the few accredited meteorologists with a minor in Theatre Arts. Robert has both the American Meteorological Society Seal of Approval as well as the National Weather Association Seal of Approval.

Robert began his television career on KVIA TV's Good Morning El Paso on Memorial Day 1995. He was promoted to chief meteorologist in August 1999. He departed KVIA in 2002 to host and produce The Open House Show, an entertaining real estate program, which aired on KTSM Sunday mornings. The Open House Show aired in Los Angeles, Phoenix, San Diego, Tucson, Austin, San Antonio, and Midland and still airs each week in Wichita Falls.

Robert was also the host of Blast Beyond, a children's show on KCOS TV (PBS). As "Captain Rob," he donned a space suit and headed up a ship full of special guests, space cadets, puppets, and musicians for a half hour of learning and fun. Blast Beyond aired from September 2011 to September 2013.

Robert grew up in the town of Bosque Farms, New Mexico and graduated from Del Norte High School in Albuquerque. His grandparents and aunt lived in Alamogordo, and Robert spent his summers there. His first job was as a clerk at the Hastings Books and Records in Alamogordo. Yes, Robert has many fond El Paso memories from his youth, especially the original Western Playland at Ascarate Lake and, of course, swimming with Goldie and Gus!

Except for the occasional karaoke outing, all my time off is devoted to my wife Amy and family. As the father of three active kids, Mason, William, and Corbin are the most fun I can have. My sons are obsessed with baseball (and now so am I), and my daughter Corbin is an exceptional student and aspiring cheerleader. Our family is competitive and loves board games, video games, word games, and games where one must seize victory from the other family members!!!!!
