Erin Murray reports in the Upper Valley, covering Hidalgo and Starr Counties. She joined the NewsCenter 23 News Team in November 2010 and is excited to be in the Rio Grande Valley.

Erin came to us from Bridgeport, West Virginia, where she started her career as a weekend reporter with WDTV. She worked as a general assignment reporter covering the untold stories throughout rural West Virginia.

Erin graduated with honors in 2010 from West Virginia University with a Television Journalism degree. While she was a Mountaineer, she was the anchor and economic reporter for the award winning broadcast WVU News. In the summer of 2008, she interned with NBC Worldwide in London, England. Erin even worked in radio for four years as a reporter for WWVU-FM/U-92.

She was born in Warrenton, Virginia, but lived for several years in Frankfurt, Germany.

When Erin isn’t reporting, she enjoys playing volleyball, riding horses and just staying active. She also loves her family, friends and dog, Layla.
