U.S. State Department Updates Regional Travel Warning for Mexico

RIO GRANDE VALLEY - The Department of State has issued a travel warning to inform US. citizens about the security situation in Mexico. Officials suggest avoiding travel within tamaulipas specifically matamoros, Nuevo Laredo, reynosa, and tampico. Highways outside of matamoros, Nuevo Laredo, reynosa, and tampico. Highways outside of matamoros, reynosa and Nuevo Laredo have been increased armed robberies and carjackings. Officials warn traveling outside of city limits after dark is particularly dangerous.
