Both the men and women UTPA basketball teams are celebrating last night's victories. It's the first time both genders have won a conference game against the same opponent since the 1996-97 season (that's when the Broncs competed in the Sun Belt and both defeated Lamar). From 1998-to-2008 UTPA was a division-one Independent. Last night marked their Great West Conference opener, and tomorrow the men and women welcome Chicago State to Edinburg.
