Congratulations to La Villa Cardinals A.J. Garza, Ricky Cantu and Brandon Alaniz for being  The Chevy Players of the Week.

La Villa battled Santa Rosa last Friday and the trio combined for 640 yards and 33 points to beat Santa Rosa in the annual Sugar Bowl game. La Villa coach Garza was asked about his three players and their performance during the game.

A.J. Garza passed for 252 yards in the first half of the game completing 11 of 21 attempts and passing for one touchdown. Ricky Cantu rushed for 128 yards on 17 carries and rushing for two touchdowns. Brandon Alaniz had 136 rushing yards on 13 carries, two rushing touchdowns and 124 receiving yards on five catches for a total of 260 yards.
