Longhorns: Victory And Survival

POSTED: Monday, October 26, 2009 - 9:07pm

UPDATED: Thursday, February 25, 2010 - 12:34pm

"...Victory at all costs, victory in spite of all terror, victory however long and hard the road may be; for without victory there is no survival." Winston Churchill -- May 13, 1940. Words from his first address as prime minister. Fast-forward 70 years. Texas is addressing their first tough, true road test of 2009. The Longhorns are 3-and-0 this season away from Austin. In those victories, Texas averages a 23 point margin. Coach Mack Brown says hold up -- we still must survive Stillwater yet. Victories certainly the keys to surviving the B-C-S race. Following their 41-7 performance, U-T remains third in the latest standings. The biggest jump is Iowa. If these teams remain perfect the rest of the way, it appears the Longhorns would face the S-E-C champ in the title game.
