Getting ready for the fiesta, Cinco de Mayo is just days away and the celebrations have already kicked off.

The Amigoland Events Center in Brownsville launched its 3rd annual Cinco de Mayo event today. Plenty of food and fun for the entire family can be found at this event, and best of all it is completely FREE.

Friday nights festivities included tejano bands taken the stage at 10:30 pm and although you will not be able to but fireworks, you can still catch a spectacular show. The festivities continue on Saturday with the much anticipated fireworks show at 8:30 in the evening, more music, and of course plenty of delicious Mexican dishes. The fun begins at 11 am and lasts through midnight.

Money raised goes to help children and charities in the Valley.
