Rowe begins search for new athletic coordinator

McAllen Rowe High School is surging forward in its quest for a new Athletic Coordinator and Head Football Coach.

The plan is now underway. The position will be posted on Wednesday, Dec. 9. Afterward, a committee will be formed to steer the search.

Candidates will be interviewed in January and a new hire announced in late January or early February.

The main responsibility of the position requires the successful candidate to lead in the development, coordination and improvement of the total athletic program for the high school and to exercise leadership, administrative, supervisory and teaching skills in ways that promote the development and maintenance of successful football programs.

In the meantime, Coach Lupe Sosa will be Rowe’s Interim Athletic Coordinator and Coach Bobby Flores will serve as Interim Head Football Coach.

“I want to assure everyone that we will do everything possible to find a new leader to carry the banner of Rowe athletics,” Rowe Principal Esther Tijerina said. “We have some of the best athletes in South Texas and a very proud tradition here at Nikki Rowe.”
