Gatorade to remove Brominated vegetable oil in drink
If your post workout drink is Gatorade, take note, Gatorade will no longer contain the controversial ingredient known as brominated vegetable oil. Pepsi Co. Incorporated, which produces Gatorade, announced the removal of the ingredient in response to numerous consumer complaints. Over the past year, more than 200,000 supporters petitioned for the removal of the vegetable oil from the sports drink. Company officials say the ingredient is used as an emulsifier to help distribute flavors, especially in their citrus varieties, the ingredient is not banned by the FDA.
