Smart Book Gives New Details on Abduction

Ten years after her ordeal. A former kidnapping victim has signed a book deal to tell her story.

St. Martin's Press has reportedly purchased the rights to a memoir by Elizabeth Smart, The Salt Lake City woman who was kidnapped when she was 14 years old in 2002 and held in captivity for nine months before being rescued by Police in 2003. Smart says she waited until abductor Brian David Mitchell was convicted before considering the collaboration. Mitchell was convicted in 2010 and sentenced to two life sentences in 2011 for abducting the 14 year old smart from her bedroom at knife point.
