Sheriffs Seize More Than $700K, Plus Drugs
CAMERON COUNTY - A routine traffic stop turns into to a big drug bust for the Cameron county sheriff's department.
The sheriff says a vehicle was traveling on parades line in Cameron County yesterday. Deputies pulled over the vehicle the sheriff says the driver appeared suspicions additional deputies were then brought to scene. Deputies with a A-K9 45 pounds of cocaine valued at about half a million dollars and a large amount of money in the vehicle.
"its drug related and will file with the courts once they are found guilty we will file with the court and award that money to law enforcement agencies and DA and Federal which ever way we go."
four people were taken into custody. They face money laundering charges and possession of a controlled substance.
