Re: Number of People with Diabetes Increasing in the Valley

It's no wonder more people in the Valley are being diagnosed with diabetes. Most of them are poor and cannot afford to eat the right kinds of food. The majority of these people eat a daily diet of flour or corn tortillas, rice and beans which translates to nothing but carbs. Carbs are the biggest villains of diabetics as carbs are turned to sugar if they are not burned as energy. Diabetics are already at risk because their organs cannot properly process carbs. It's a no-win situation.
