Two children are recovering after a near drowning on South Padre Island.
It happened at the Isla Blanca Park where Coast Guard crews responded to a person in the water call at around 7:30pm on Thursday. A 12 and 13 year-old boy and girl got caught in the rip currents and needed help getting out. The Coast Guard along with South Padre Island fire rescue lifeguards pulled the children out of the water in time. Emergency crews took them to the hospital where they are expected to recover fine.
