In Medical news a committee of diabetes experts have recommended a new test for the diagnosis of the disease.
Experts say the A1C test should be used to diagnose diabetes, rather than the two tests currently being used. A1C is a measurement of glucose levels overt the past two to three months and does not require patients to fast. They looked at the effectiveness of all three tests and found the A1C varied less than the others and had certain technical advantages.
