RIO GRANDE VALLEY - Keep an eye towards the skies tomorrow, because the Texas Department of State Health Services is having their annual Aerial Rabies Vaccine Drop.
Planes will be taking off from Zapata, then flying over rural parts of Hidalgo, Willacy and Cameron County to drop small packets of vaccine doses.
The rabies vaccine is intended for coyotes and foxes, but won't harm other animals if ingested.
Because of there aerial drops, cases of canin rabies has dropped from 122 cases in 1994 to zero cases in 2009.
The DSHS said for people to not touch the vaccine if they see it, becuase human scent will deter the animals from eating it.
