Precinct 4 Commissioner-Elect Joseph Palacios is being sworn in today in Edinburg.
After several months of waiting, Palacios is finally taking office as Commissioner.
Palacios has been serving the county for 12 years. He says he has several issues he wants to start addressing.
"We want to make sure we start becoming more fiscally responsible, making sure that we get the greatest return on each and every one of our investments. It's gonna take a commissioner and I am committed to do it unbiasedly, to try to filter out the politics and stay more objective," said Joseph Palacios, Pct. 4 Commissioner.
Palacios is also looking to address the drainage issues throughout the city and county. And he wants to help create high-wage jobs through economic development.
