Police say the group accused of opening fire on an off-duty Border Patrol agent on Wednesday thought that the agent was someone else.
All six appeared before Judge Mauro Reyna in Mission on Friday. They were charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and say Nieves Ramirez is the shooter. Police say they're learning the group did not target the Border Patrol agent and say they believe it's a case of mistaken identity.
They were not targeting a regular citizen off the streets, but had somebody in mind and they were looking for something specific. The judge set their bonds for everyone at $300,000 dollars each.
