After five hours of searching, dive teams finally pulled the body of a 16-year old from a pond near McCook.
It happened off Mile 10 and a half and Moorefield Road, East of the Moorefield Airbase around three this afternoon.
A day of swimming turned deadly for 16-year old, Israel Infante.
Around Eight tonight, rescue crews pulled his body out of the water.
For hours, Alton Fire and Rescue along with Mission Firefighters, and Hidalgo County Sheriff Investigators worked hard to find the body.
Divers on boats used home-built radar equipment to try and find the body.
Hidalgo County Sheriff Lupe Trevino says the teen was swimming with his friends, but unfortunately never came back up to the surface.
In some places, this pond is about 12 feet deep, and the water's very murky.
Investigators believe he got stuck, under the water.
The teen's family came to the pond, and say they're still in shock at what happened.
As crews removed the body, the family broke out in tears.
Investigators are still trying to find out exactly how Infante drowned.
