Today marks the busiest shipping day of the year for FedEx.
As Federal Express employees rang the opening bell on Wall Street the sound echoed across the country on what will likely to be the busiest day in the company's history, with as many as 16-million packages being processed through their system, double the volume of a normal day and an increase of almost 13-percent over the busiest day last year.
FedEx expects to deliver more than 220-million parcels this holiday season.
Big Brown is seeing green, too.
UPS will work through about 430-million packages this holiday season.
Most of that shipping is driven by $21.95-billion in on-line sales, up 12-percent over last year.
If you want to pay the cheaper rate for your present to arrive by Christmas you'll have to have it in to the FedEx or ups systems by the end of this week.
