It's a long-standing tradition.
People are coming from near and far to celebrate, Semana Santa on South Padre Island this Easter weekend.
Tonight, visitors are making their way to the Island, as part of their holy week and Easter Celebrations.
Many like, Yvette Martinez, are flocking from Mexico and parts of the Valley to enjoy the holiday weekend.
She says, "It's a lot of fun, everyone comes from Mexico, I guess the valley, and we just have fun."
Traffic on Highway 100 is already congested.
With the large numbers of pilgrims making their way to the Island.
With these crowds, Port Isabel Police are keeping an eye out for everyone's safety.
