Two countries met for the entire week to talk and plan for disaster relief efforts in Brownsville.
It was a joint exercise between federal, state and local emergency managers from the United States and Mexico. The exercise was designed to strengthen communication, information sharing and emergency planning during disaster operations. One of the key guests this week was FEMA representative Tony Russell.
Participants were placed in mock disaster situations and were asked to develop emergency policies, plans and procedures to develop an effective response.
