Researchers in Spain say they have located a biochemical pathway which causes memory loss in mice.
Marijuana produces memory loss by acting on the region of the brain that governs cognitive functions, but the impact, whether long term or short term, and how the drug acted biochemically is not known. Scientists measured the impact of marijuana in normal mice and scientists believe marijuana's affect on memory can be traced to CB-1 neurons in the brain injected by marijuana's active ingredient THC.
