More than a dozen people were pounding the pavement in San Juan voicing out that they wanted fair wages from corporations that they say are not paying fair.
Reyna Tolares was out protesting for fair wages in front of the Family Dollar store off of Raul Longoria road, one of the companies, labor unions are filing complaints against. Elliot Tucker, an attorney for South Texas Civil Rights Project, told us that they filed a lawsuit for five individuals from the upper Valley against Family Dollar for unfair pay practices.
He states that he hopes Thursday's protest would bring light to the unfair treatment of employees to migrant workers. Family Dollar wasn't too happy during the protest and called in police to control the protesters, but as long as the protesters weren't in the street they were allowed to carry their message.
