Suspected shoplifters run from store with two infants, but leave toddlers behind.
Police in Orlando, Florida say they are searching for two women who took off, leaving two young boys behind, when they were spotted trying to take merchandise from an Orange County Walmart on Tuesday night.
The two women abandoned the boys after a security guard from the Walmart store caught the women shoplifting, police said.
Police said the two women are related to the boys, who are now staying with their grandparents.
Detectives said the incident began when a loss prevention officer stopped the women from leaving the store with more than $200 of kids' merchandise.
The women ran off with the two infants they were holding, but left behind two boys who were sitting in a shopping cart, police said.
The boys are 1 and 2 years old.
Police said they know who the women are, but have not released their names.
They said a warrant has been issued for one of the suspects.
The Department of Children and Families has been notified about the incident, police said, and will continue the investigation.
The boys' mother is currently serving time in jail on unrelated charges.
