The use of road spikes will soon become illegal in the state of Texas as State Representative Aaron Pena who filed the bill on Monday.
This comes after last month's incident where Alfredo Sandoval used spikes to veer off law enforcement in a car chase. Sheriff Trevino expressed his concerns about the use of spikes against law enforcement to representative Pena. Pena says the spikes pose a serious threat to the lives of law enforcement and innocent bystanders caught in the vicinity of a pursuit. Other border security legislation filed by Pena includes the creation of south bound checkpoints along the border to stop the flow of illegal cash and weapons into Mexico.
