Video game app teaches kids healthy eating skills.
A California couple has won a nationwide competition sponsored by First Lady Michelle Obama's "Let's Move" initiative.
They did it by creating an app called "Food Busters," a virtual game that teaches kids about healthy eating.
Jessica Oratoski-Coleman works as a health educator at the University of California San Diego and husband Aaron is a web developer, so when they heard about the "Let's Move" initiative challenge to create an app for healthy kids, they immediately wanted to try it out.
"Food Buster" won the People's Choice award, beating out 95 other submissions.
It's modeled after a game show and teaches motivates kids to make healthier food options.
The couple worked on it for weeks.
Their late night work sessions paid off.
The duo won $10,000 dollars and a trip to the White House.
