The Texas Land Office and U.S. Coast Guard spent the morning looking into oil washed ashore along 8 miles of beach.
The U.S. Coast Guard says the oil runs from the jetties at Isla Blanca Park along 8 miles on of the island's sandy beach. The oil can be found on the beach and near playing children and tourists trying to enjoy a day at the beach.
A clean up contractor is already at the beach cleaning up the oil. Right now the U.S. Coast Guard is not sure where the oil is coming from at this time.
