Brownsville Mayor Pat Ahumada wants the city to back him in opposing the negotiation between the City Commission and the Department of Homeland Security.
He does not believe the proposed agreement is a viable choice for the city or its budget in the long run. Ahumada says the commission should reject the offer by DHS and take it to court. The decision is expected to be made at Tuesday's commission meeting at 6pm on the second floor at City Hall.
