Memorial Day has a double meaning for most, as either a day of fun and relaxation or a day to look back and honor those who have fought for our freedom. Many are taking time out or their holiday to visit fallen soldiers at local cemeteries with flowers, flags and even pictures.
Grave stones are decorated to remember all those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Brownsville resident, Janie Olvera says she'll never forget her dad, Samuel Eureti, who served in World War II. She visited his grave site to honor him and also to pay tribute to all other soldiers who died and continue fighting for our country.
Olvera's father wore the proud colors of the U.S. Army and passed away 20 years ago loosing his battle against cancer.
