Neighbors upset with fence company's "joke".
An Ocala, Florida business sparked talk among residents after posting a new sign inviting to women to show their breasts.
The Hercules Fence Company posted a sign outside its office on Merricamp Road in Ocala that said, "Breast inspection 20 feet ahead, please have 'em out. You got to love them rednecks."
Employee Otto Scharfschwedrdt said the owner posted sayings on his billboard for 17 years to provoke thoughts and get the residents talking.
"We just put stuff there that provokes thought," said Scharfschwedrdt. "It's freedom of speech. You can say what you want. Freedom of speech and that's just all kind of humorous, good stuff."
Breast cancer survivors and supporters, however, were at odds over the billboard sign.
"I've had dear friends die of breast cancer, grandmother die of breast cancer, so it seems kind of ridiculous," Heather Cook, of Ocala, said. "It's a little insulting to make fun of something so serious."
"It didn't bother me because I'm a survivor. Thank you, God," Ocala resident Theresa Newell said.
Scharfschwedrdt said the sign will be up for about a week before the owner changes it.
"This message typically last for about a week, Friday to Friday," Scharfschwedrdt said.
