Early voting is over throughout the Valley and election officials say this time around, the turnout is extremely low.
In Rancho Viejo, few voters came out during early voting and most other polling places saw a low turn out as well. In Brownsville, voters are down from 3,580 to 2,297 early votes. Just over a thousand voters turned out in Los Fresnos and in Hidalgo county didn't break 2,000 voters. Willacy county saw a spike in early voting and 619 voters turned out.
Elections officials believe schools shutting down from the swine flu contributed to the low turnout and the General Elections is Saturday.
